O2 Boostbox Migration onto a New IP Range

O2 are currently migrating their broadband network to a new infrastructure, which will affect O2 Boostbox customers.

There will be an initial 30 minute downtime to the service after 00:01 on Thursday, 5th June. Customers will then be migrated in small groups over a two week period, and during this time customers will experience 2 x 5 minute outages. The five minute outages will occur between midnight and 06:00 and are expected to begin on Thursday, 12th June, continuing until Thursday, 26th June.

All O2 Boostboxes will experience a 30 minute downtime after midnight on Thursday, 5th June.

Individual migrations will commence after 00:01 on Friday, 13th June. Boostboxes that are connected to standard ADSL lines will experience a small five minute outage and not require any further action. If you are connected to a corporate LAN or firewall, you will need to reconfigure the firewall settings. Details follow.

Should you have any questions regarding the changes, please contact us or the O2 customer service desk. However, if you are having issues with your Boostbox please reset the box by switching it off and on again before making contact, as this is a simple fix that should resolve any issues.

If youre connected to a corporate LAN or firewall setup, you will need to reconfigure your firewall settings prior to the migration. This can be done prior to the changes with old and new firewall settings in place simultaneously. Your Boostbox will experience an outage of approximately five minutes through the night.
