Nokia Lumia 530
The Nokia Lumia 530 is the latest and most affordable Windows Phone release. It is now available for purchase in the UK and retails for as little as £60. Despite being a budget smartphone, the Lumia 530 doesn’t compromise on design or function.
With it’s 4-inch, 480 x 854 pixel LED screen, the display is crisp and easy to navigate whilst remaining perfectly pocket friendly. Also, the interchangeable, textured plastic case looks and feels great, and is available in variety of colours so you can mix and match!
Best of all, the Lumia 530 comes preloaded with Windows Phone 8.1, giving you access to loads of great features from the moment that you take it out of the box. We’ve included some of our favourites below.
Microsoft Office – Enhance your productivity with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote and OneDrive at your fingertips, anywhere at anytime.
Windows Phone Store -†Packed with more than 250,000 apps, the Windows Phone Store has all of your favourites available for download, including Twitter, Instagram, Vine and Flipboard.
Cortana – Available to UK users later in the year, Cortana is an advanced personal assistant with intelligent voice recognition. Cortana allows users to set reminders, search the internet, send texts etc. simply by asking.
Xbox Music – Allows you to play and manage your personal music collection, as well as download music from the Xbox Music Store.
The Nokia Lumia 530 also boasts a 5MP camera, GPS navigation system HERE Drive+, Bing Maps and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.
Although internal storage is quite low compared to other Lumia devices (4GB), the MicroSD slot allows you to extend the memory to fit your needs (up to 128GB).
The Nokia Lumia 530 lacks 4G connectivity, however the need for a budget 4G phone has already been met with the Lumia 635. It is also missing a front facing camera, however this is a small sacrifice to make to deliver such a quality phone at a low price.
If you’ve previously used an iPhone, your data (such as your iTunes library) is easily transferable to the Lumia 530 using the Windows Phone app. You can also sync contact and calender appointments onto a Microsoft Outlook account.
You can also easily track your data usage with the Microsoft Data Sense app. It allows you to track how much data a device is using,† warns you when you’re reaching your limit and helps you keep your data usage to a minimum.
Overall, the Nokia Lumia 530 delivers quality features and design at a value price; the perfect option if you’re on a budget. It is also an excellent choice for a business mobile thanks to Windows 8.1.
