Coming in 2018
Take a look at our pick of the best new smartphones due for launch next year…
Samsung Galaxy A8 and A8+
Samsung has just unveiled a brand new generation of affordable smartphones, the Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ devices.
Both feature a dual-lens camera with an f/1.9 aperture — and Samsung’s Live Focus feature, a favorite from the Galaxy Note 8.
The body has an IP68 water and dust resistance rating, for peace of mind, and it’s the first A-Series Samsung phone that’s compatible with the Gear VR virtual reality headset.
Samsung Galaxy S9
The Galaxy S9 is anticipated to be the highest profile Android handset of 2018, packed full of features and technology.
While there has been no official announcement or release date as yet, the S9 will build on the success of the S8 and S8+.
Rumours point to the phone having an upgraded chipset with support for faster download speeds, a camera that can shoot at 1,000 frames per second and an improved battery life.
LG are expected to reveal their flagship new smartphone in the New Year, so we might not have too long to wait for it. This would give the G7 a head start against major rivals such as the Galaxy S9.
The G7 is tipped to receive some major updates from the G6, including an advanced iris scanner and Qualcomm’s latest chipset.
All eyes are on CES 2018 – the global consumer electronics and technology trade show – which takes place next month in Las Vegas.
Nokia made a big comeback this year with a wide-range of devices including the popular Nokia 6 and their flagship Nokia 8 smartphone.
The Nokia 9 will be another step forward, improving on the 8, with a larger screen and faster processor. The release date is still unknown but it is anticipated early 2018.
